An escaped emu is back home safely after police tracked the massive bird and brought its town walkabout to a peaceful end.

State troopers wrangled a loose emu off the Polk Parkway on Saturday morning after the large bird was spotted wandering along the highway. The Florida Highway Patrol received a call around 8:30 a.m.
